This month we celebrate and recognize the exceptional work of our esteemed Sourcing Manager, Mhel Joy Lajara. Since joining our team in February 2023, Mhel Joy has continuously demonstrated unparalleled dedication, expertise, and commitment to excellence, making her an indispensable asset to our team and our clients.
If you haven’t met Mhel, we hope you will have the opportunity to work with her in the near future! A bit about Mhel and her awesome background background in sourcing, logistics, and compliance:
Mhel Joy Lajara has been in the Supply Chain and Shipping Industry for 10 years. She holds a degree in Customs Administration and has acquired her license as Customs Broker in the same year she graduated from college in the Philippines.
She was a Data and Pricing Analyst in an international shipping company. As a member of the marketing team, she sent profitable quotations, joined tender bids for the Fortune 500 and strategized pricing approach to existing and new clients. When she moved to Dubai, she held a New Product Development Executive position for a package design company. Part of her job is to procure the product. She was able to connect with suppliers globally.
Back to her homeland in 2019, she became an Assistant Manager in the Procurement Team. Here, she handled sourcing all categories for both goods and services for the company, from tissue, to t-shirts, to transportation and hotel services, to security and facilities management and many more. She handled supplier research, bidding, awarding, contracting and monitoring of the delivery of goods or services. She also oversaw vendor and contract management. She became more proficient in strategic sourcing doing LEAN Projects and contributing to GREENBELT Projects.
Currently, she is part of group of sourcing and compliance experts at Empress Brokers International LLC. She supports and leads sourcing, logistics and compliance solutions for clients.
As we reflect on Mhel Joy’s invaluable contributions, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for her outstanding work. Her dedication and passion for excellence serve as an inspiration to us all, driving us to continually strive for greatness in everything we do.
